Philadelphia criminal defense lawyer Josh Scarpello defends people who are charged with DUI/DWI, drug possession with intent to deliver (PWID), drug conspiracy, committing a crime with a real or fake handgun, possession of a handgun without a license, sex crimes, assault, homicide, embezzlement, and other charges. The lawyer handles cases not only in Philadelphia but in Doylestown, Media, and Norristown, as well in as communities in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties. The defense lawyer handles federal crimes and serious charges such as homicide throughout Pennsylvania, including Harrisburg and Johnstown.

Mr. Scarpello attended Temple University’s Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia.  While at Temple, he was a member of Temple’s Environmental Law Journal and a member of Temple’s National Trial Team.  Mr. Scarpello’s team won the American Trial Lawyers’ Association National Trial Competition in 1998.

Mr. Scarpello interned for the Honorable Charles R. Weiner, Senior Judge for the United States District Court in Pennsylvania’s Eastern District.  In addition, Mr. Scarpello interned at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. Following law school, Mr. Scarpello took a position as an assistant district attorney under the Honorable Lynne Abraham.  He worked in the District Attorney’s Office from 1998 until 2003.  Mr. Scarpello handled thousands of cases as a prosecutor and worked tirelessly to improve the lives of Philadelphians.

In 2005, Mr. Scarpello opened his own law practice, specializing in criminal defense and personal injury.  In 2008 he combined his practice with colleague Pierre La Tour to better serve his clients.

Mr. Scarpello is licensed in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  He is an active member of the Philadelphia and Pennsylvania Bar Associations and the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.  Mr. Scarpello is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
